The best takeaway from watching Lenovo’s latest launch of their Legion gaming laptops is probably “savage”. There was no subtlety at all as they lunged for the word every opportunity they got. Not that it wasn’t justified though, as these were truly powerful gaming machines. Personally though, what separates Lenovo from the rest of the pack is their 3-Year Accidental Damage Protection and 3-Year Legion Ultimate Support, which is the best standard warranty in the market. Given that, if I were in the market for a gaming or content creation laptop right now, I’d probably be picking from any one of the machines below.

Lenovo Legion 5i

For most folks with a reasonable budget, you might be looking for something like the Lenovo Legion 5i. Whether you’re studying, a professional, or just want to stay connected, the Legion 5i can be paired with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor. When it’s playtime, you can game with up to the latest NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060.

Whether you’re enjoying your favorite movie or fragging enemies in multiplayer, the 15-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) IPS 16:9 display has you covered, while its 165Hz refresh rate ensures silky smooth framerates. Add to that Dolby Vision with 100% sRGB color accuracy and you’ll be able to consume and output everything the way it was meant to be consumed.

Of course, it isn’t just about cramming as many performance components possible into a laptop as you have to keep everything cool in a tight space. The Legion 5i comes with improved stealth cooling that, while quiet, still offers a fan that’s 40% more powerful with 45% larger exhaust than the previous generation.

All this is wrapped in a Storm Grey all-metal chassis. It too is both thinner and lighter than the previous generation. And while you might think grey to be a boring color, it comes with a choice between 4-zone RGB or white backlighting thanks to the new Legion Spectrum RGB Lighting solution, in-house software that controls the Legion TrueStrike keyboard.

Starting at Php89,995, it comes in at a price point

Lenovo Legion 5i Pro

Of course, if you want to step up from the Legion 5i in terms of performance, the Legion 5i Pro offers a larger 16-inch 2960 x 1600 IPS display in 16:10 format with 100% sRGB color gamut and 3ms response time. It too supports Dolby Vision as well.

While you still get the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor, the GPU is upgraded with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070Ti. You’re also getting improved memory bandwidth thanks to 4800Mhz DDR5 memory, as well as fast 1TB 1TB PCle SSD (Gen4) of storage.

Cooling is likewise not an afterthought. It features a larger exhaust area and an improved penta heat pipe layout to help lower surface temperatures and keep the Legion 5i Pro cooler to the touch. It also offers improved noise suppression thanks to Legion Coldfront 4.0 and a noise-insulated chassis.

The Legion 7i Pro is also available in Storm Grey and comes with the new Legion Spectrum RGB Lighting, starting at Php119,995.

Lenovo Legion 7i and Lenovo Legion Slim 7i

For an even bigger step up in performance while keeping the chassis lightweight and portable, there’s the Lenovo Legion 7i and Legion Slim 7i. Sporting 16” WQHD+ Mini LED displays, these laptops are great for users with multi-dimensional needs.

The Legion 7i rocks the 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900HX processor and can be paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti for those who want uncompromising performance. It can pack up to 2TB of SSD Gen4 storage and up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM. On the other hand, the Legion Slim 7i can be paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, along with up to 1TB of Gen4 SSD storage, and 24GB of DDR5 RAM.

The Legion 7i features an all-metal exterior in Storm Grey and starts at Php 179,995 while the Legion Slim 7i comes in Onyx Grey and starts at Php 124,995.

Lenovo Legion Tower 7i

Of course, gamers come in all forms and sizes and this doesn’t have to be entirely about gaming notebooks. For gamers and content creators who don’t have to be as mobile, Lenovo delivers the Legion Tower 7i with the performance of the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900K processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti LHR GPU. Whether you’re gaming and need ultrafast framerates or churning out 4K videos, the Legion Tower 7i is build for long hours while keeping the price reasonable. The Legion Tower 7i can also be equipped with up to 2TB f Gen 4 SSD storage and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. Price? Starts at Php 159,995.00.

IdeaPad Gaming 3i

Finally, you’re workhorse laptop doesn’t have to be a potato when it comes to gaming. The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i comes in a choice of either 12th Gen Intel Core i7 or i5 H-Series processors, and a choice between an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or a NVIDIA GeForce RTX3050Ti. The IdeaPad Gaming 3i is available in Onyx Grey and starts at Php 69,995.
